Community Projects

BC Extreme listens to our community. Residents, community centres, and British Columbia Parks are examples of those who tell us what they consider to be their most critical issues and help us determine how they can be included in our itinerary. If you have suggestions of what groups should be included, or if you would like to volunteer, we’d like to hear from you. Contact Us together, we can develop and implement projects and programs designed for individual communities. This might include local work projects, trail building, and working with those who are less fortunate.

People With Disabilities

(the GAP program)

People with disabilities are among our friends, family members, co-workers and respected leaders. Yet statistics show that only 32 percent of working-age people with disabilities are employed, compared with 81 percent of the non-disabled population (a "gap" of 49 percentage points). And similar gaps exist in other major life activities, such as community, political, and religious participation.

By changing how we approach disabilities, BC Extreme is committed to closing these gaps and putting forth the message that it's ability, not disability, that counts.

As the number of people with disabilities in North America increases, families that include someone with a disability also increase. These families come in all shapes and sizes, and may include parents, grandparents, sons, daughters or siblings with disabilities. What most of them have in common is that they love and cherish their family members, with and without a disability. BC Extreme tries to accommodate everyone. We encourage you to contact us for more information on “Closing the Gap”:  604-761-2304
